PETER KIBOWA

Peter Kimbowa (P.K.) is the Managing Partner with the overall responsibility for Managing and Leading IFE Consultants. He is an internationally certified Trainer first by World Trade Organisation /UNCTAD and secondly by the International Finance Corporation, and a certified Public Sector procurement expert with over 20 years of work and Consulting experience gained in Uganda, East Africa, South Africa and Europe.

He has trained well over 50,000 people in more than fifteen countries in the last couple of years Peter is a leading Process and Resource Consultant with expertise in Governance, Enterprise Development, Strategic Planning, Executive selection, Leadership Development, Organizational restructuring, Research, Coaching, and Capacity building. Peter was awarded – The Best Professional Man of the Year by British Council and Management Forum-

2005/2006.

IFE Consultants is the recipient of the International Arch of Europe Award for Leadership and Quality in Paris 2009.

2014

Peter has conducted many Corporate Governance retreats for the Public, Private and Civil Society

organizations since 2005. Peter is an Associate of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences.

He is the Team leader for the partnership between CEO Summit and Strathmore Business School, Nairobi.

2011 – to-date

In collaboration with the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) Makerere

University, he is also the Project Coordinator of the first ever Vice Chancellor’s Innovation Hub…a concept

being developed and field-tested for University Students in Uganda – starting with Makerere University.

This process will hopefully lead to student and fresh graduate participation in Eco/Community Industrial

Parks and techpreneurship on one hand and the harnessing of productive synergies between the private sector and academia on the other.

Focus: Defining the next generation’s Peter is a Selection and Recruitment Advisor – Muteesa 1 Royal University.

2009 – to-date:

He is a regular guest speaker at several Universities in Africa, Europe and North America on

Leadership/Corporate Governance, Strategy, Sales, Personal and Business Success.

Peter is a trustee of the recently established League of East African Directors based in Kampala.

Peter with others – created one of the leading Private Independent THINK TANKS – The CEO Summit. It is composed of Tier 1 Corporate Captains of Business and Industry in Uganda. The Think Tank houses a multi-discipline team of Trustees and Associates – Thought Leaders and Research experts.

He is the Team Leader of the partnership between one of Africa’s finest Business Schools, Strathmore Business School, Kenya -and the CEO Summit Uganda to graduate the Region’s CEOs –In-Waiting (CEO Apprenticeship Programme).

Peter is a regular Guest speaker at: Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Kampala University, Uganda Christian University – Mukono, Makerere University of Science & Technology, Mbarara University of Science & Technology, the University of Dar-es-salaam, University of Kenya, speaker and panelist at the Harvard Business School.

Peter is the leader of the online “MBA” programme between Uganda and the University of Sunderland.

1990 – 2000

Peter has had over 20 years of hands-on Public and Private sector senior – level participation, Board level contribution and Project Leadership in a number of Local and Internationally based organizations, ITC/UNCTAD/UNCI Project Coordinator (UGA/ITC/59), Director of Public Procurement and Logistics services, Regular Guest Speaker at Universities in Africa, Europe and North America (including Harvard Business School), Internationally Certified SME Trainer by IFC/World.

 

Dr. ROBIN KIBUKA

Robin graduated with a BA (Economics) from Yale University and a PhD (Economics) from Harvard University.

He is a senior economist with 20+ years of experience at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and extensive international experience with macroeconomic policy and has provided technical assistance to several countries around the world.

He worked at the Executive Board of the IMF and in several departments of the institution. He served as the IMF Resident Representative in Ghana and retired in 2009 as Advisor in the Statistics Department.

He taught at Harvard and Makerere Universities and worked as a Research Assistant at the Yale University Economic Growth Centre. He has several publications to his name in areas such as Statistics, Macro management and Governance.

He has also consulted in the areas of Macroeconomics, Development Policy, and Statistics, most recently with the African Development Bank and the UNDP in designing and updating a Fiscal Adjustment Roadmap for Swaziland.

 

JAMES SERUGO

“Jimmy” is a Board Member for Amani Partners in Kampala, Uganda. He brings a wealth of experience and expansive business networks in the Uganda market.

He currently serves as a Board member of the Monitor Publications (subsidiary of Nation Media, Kenya) and has his own book publishing firm called Net Media Publishers. Among his current activities includes being the co-Founder of the CEO Summit Uganda which prepares the next generation of leadership for corporates in Uganda. As well, he is the Founder of the League of East African Directors (LEAD) which brings together local talent to share best practices and learn from each other.

Prior to Amani Partners, Jimmy was the Business Director of The Monitor Publications where he managed the financial, commercial and production aspects of the business. During his tenure, he spearheaded the divestiture of the company to bring in a strategic investor, the Nation Media Group, in 2002. Jimmy has co–authored several books on entrepreneurship and the dangers of HIV/ AIDS and also mentored the Youth. He is an executive coach by trade.

 

STEPHEN MUKASA

Stephen Mukasa is the Ugandan Country Representative of Strathmore University and the Director of Operations – Strathmore Business School (SBS), Uganda. He is an Accountant by profession and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from SBS.

He is also a seasoned corporate trainer on soft skills and organisational behaviour. His areas of specialty are effective communication in the workplace, personal leadership and professional ethics.

In his free time over the weekends, Stephen mentors University students and also provides career guidance sessions at Bugala Study Centre. He was also part of the team that designed and co-authored the Personality Enhancement Program (PEP) that is used in some of the secondary schools in Uganda and Rwanda.

He sits on the Boards of Kelim Foundation, Buildware Centre Limited, the League of East African Directors (of which he’s one of the Founding Directors) and is also a Trustee of the CEO Summit Uganda – a Private Sector Think Tank which brings together all Tier 1 Corporate leaders in Uganda.

Stephen is also keen on extreme sports, with a particular mention of whitewater rafting, in which he has so far garnered 185km on the River Nile with Adrift Uganda.

 

ALLAN MULENGANI

Allan is an experienced Strategic management and Competitiveness expert both at firm and national levels, with competencies in private sector development gained as Trainer, strategic management, corporate governance and policy support expert and Consultant.

He is an experienced researcher and academic with a wide range of competencies which cut across the research, teaching, administrative, leadership and management domains. Allan has experience in the public, private and voluntary sectors, with many years of experience in capacity building and PPP support for both public and private sectors.

Allan has previously held the positions of Director of The Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Strathmore Business School (Strathmore University (SISC)) in Kenya and also of Dean School of Business at Kabarak University in Kenya I am a past Vice president for Membership at The International Academy of African Business and Development (IAABD) and have held various faculty positions in Europe and Africa.

He is a member of various international professional and academic networks including the Global Competitiveness Network and member, the competitiveness Institute (TCI), The Pan African Competitiveness Forum (PACF), and Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness faculty network.

Allan holds a PhD in Strategic Management from Bradford School of Management, Bradford University, an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton and a BA from Makerere University amongst other academic and professional qualifications.

He has undertaken consultancy assignments spanning across several industries and sectors, and continue to be actively involved in several professional and community service endeavors. He also has a track record of academic and none academic publications including case studies.

GERTRUDE KARUGABA

Gertrude Karugaba is a partner at Sebalu and Lule Advocates. She is qualified as a commercial lawyer and her practice focuses on equity and debt capital markets, corporate law, corporate governance, banking and financial commercial agreements and pensions and regulatory support.

JAMES OKELLO ONYOIN

James is a Public Financial Management (PFM) Expert with over 20 years experience in International Development. He is a Board Member for Eskom Uganda and Senior Partner at Jim Roberts Certified Public Accountants.

James is a Trustee for the CEO Summit Uganda and previously held senior management positions at the Tropical Bank, Uganda Revenue Authority, Ernst & Young, KPMG and Price water house Coopers (PwC).

James has extensive hands-on experience in consulting, training, capacity building, mentoring, executive coaching, change management, project management and implementation of Public Sector Reforms and Integrated Financial Management Information Systems. He is a member of the Pool of Experts for the IMF, World Bank, UNDP, and the African Development Bank. James has conducted various consultancy assignments for a number of bilateral and multilateral institutions, international development agencies, and the Governments of Uganda, Kenya, The Gambia, Liberia, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), Ethiopia, Sudan, Lesotho and South Sudan.

James is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) UK. He holds an MBA of Oxford Brookes University UK, and a

B.Com degree of Makerere University Kampala. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Income Tax Administration (DITA) from the Uganda Management Institute.

James is a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow.

 

ROBERT WAGGWA NSIBIRWA

Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa is a Trustee and Co-Founder of CAC. He has over 15 years work experience in coffee. He worked with Uganda Coffee Trade Federation as Director Statistics and Finance; He worked with Eastern African Fine Coffee Association as Executive Director; directing programs in quality enhancement and trade expansion in 10 African coffee producing countries. He is a board member in Coffee Development Authority. He has consulted with World Bank in Commodity Risk Management and is a Master Trainer in Coffee Sustainability.

He is the Minister for Planning & Economic Development Buganda Kingdom Currently, he is the President and CEO at the Africa Coffee Academy.
